Job Description

As our current After Sales Director transitions into an exciting new role within the organization, Scania is now looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to step into this key position and drive our After Sales operations across the U.S. and Canadian markets. As part of the Management Team, this role plays a critical part in optimizing service delivery, expanding market presence, and maximizing customer satisfaction throughout North America. The After Sales Director will align with Scania’s global standards while crafting and executing localized strategies that elevate our service offerings and support long-term, sustainable growth. The position is based in San Antonio, TX, with regular travel to engage with distributors, key customers, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities: Develop and implement After Sales strategies to drive growth, maximize profitability, and meet market demands, in alignment with the Scania USA strategic vision. Manage and support the After Sales team to deliver exceptional service and customer satisfaction across all service touchpoints. Lead initiatives to introduce new service products, solutions, and processes that optimize efficiency for customers. Shape the strategic development of our After Sales capabilities in North America together with the Management Team – with a clear focus on growth, innovation, and customer value. Work closely with the distributors to strengthen relationships, enhance service delivery, and promote Scania’s service standards. Lead the resolution of complex service issues, forming task forces to address high-impact challenges and ensure timely solutions. Oversee the financial and operational targets for After Sales, ensuring performance metrics are met and aligned with business objectives. Leading and managing a team of three direct reports, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure alignment with organizational goals and professional growth. Acting as a cultural ambassador, fostering the company’s values and principles in the U.S. market and driving initiatives that strengthen alignment with Scania’s global culture. Previous Experience Extensive experience in leadership, preferable as part of management teams, within OEM, heavy vehicle, or related sectors. Proven track record in managing service operations, including OEM integration, dealer networks, and service product development. Experience in implementing strategic plans that align with broader business objectives and drive sustainable growth. Prior experience managing multidisciplinary teams, with a focus on optimizing service delivery and operational efficiency. Personal Characteristics Strategic and analytical mindset, capable of translating high-level business goals into actionable After Sales strategies. Adaptable leader with strong problem-solving capabilities in dynamic market conditions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage internal and external stakeholders effectively. Results-oriented, with a focus on customer satisfaction and business development. A collaborative leader with the ability to cultivate strong, trust-based relationships at the management level and actively engage with senior stakeholders across Scania’s global organization. Education, Skills and Abilities Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related fields required; MBA or equivalent is beneficial. Demonstrated success in managing team, After Sales operations, service optimization and customer satisfaction. Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in data reporting and data-driven decision-making. Proficiency in CRM systems, MS Office, and other business management tools.
